Maoists have stepped up attacks just a day ahead of elections in Chhattisgarh. 6 IED blasts ripped through Kanker this morning and Maoists and security forces faced off in an encounter in which 2 Maoist were killed. Eighteen assembly constituencies spread across eight Naxal-affected districts will vote in the first phase of polling in Chhattisgarh tomorrow. Earlier, during his campaign PM Modi hit out at Naxal terror, slamming urban Naxals as well. Yesterday BJP president Amit Shah released the party manifesto hugely favouring the farmers. Congress president Rahul Gandhi meanwhile was in CM Raman Singh's constituency- Rajnandgaon - campaigning for his party.
